Bareilly: Bareilly district has posted a notable improvement in the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS), securing the 6th rank in the state for the month of July on the back of timely and quality resolution of public grievances filed under the janSunwai (public hearing) system. Officials attributed the achievement to effective grievance disposal, sustained monitoring, and greater accountability among officers across the district.
The district had ranked 17th in May and 16th in June. Since then, a sustained push — through quality resolution of complaints, ensuring complainant satisfaction, and regular review meetings to drive corrective action — has pushed Bareilly up to 6th place statewide. Officials described the jump as a reflection of the coordinated efforts and effective functioning of officers and staff across the district.

At the tehsil level, Faridpur turned in the strongest performance, ranking 25th in the state, followed by Meerganj at 34th. Baheri, Sadar and Aonla tehsils each secured the 50th rank, while Nawabganj lagged behind at 95th — a shortfall for which the concerned officials have been given specific instructions to improve performance.

The district administration says its goal now is to ensure every grievance filed through the janSunwai system is resolved in a timely, satisfactory and quality manner, with an eye on breaking into the state’s top-ranking category in the coming months. To that end, all relevant officers have been directed to maintain regular monitoring, engage complainants effectively, and ensure grievances are resolved to a high standard.
